Chapter Twenty Two

I was nervous the whole way to Los Angeles. I was second-guessing my outfit choices, my lingerie choices and my choice to open my big mouth about staying in the room the whole time. Maybe I wasn’t ready. Maybe it was too soon. Would he be mad if I changed my mind or think I’m a tease? I was so out of practice. I wasn’t sure I still knew the art of seduction. How would it work? Would we just jump each other’s bones as soon as I walked in the room? Would we be compatible? Would we be able to coexist in such close quarters for consecutive days?

My thoughts were interrupted by the pilot announcing our decent. It’s time to put on my big girl panties. Actually, it’s time for me to take them off. I’m just going to relax, enjoy myself and let nature take its course.

When I deboarded the plane, I went straight to the bathroom to freshen up before heading to baggage claim. I’d dressed casually but sexy, wearing a pair of tight-fitting ripped jeans, a thin off the shoulder green blouse and wedged green sandals. I was dealing with some big-time butterflies after sending Bryce a text telling him I’d arrived. He was pulling in when I texted him and would be waiting curbside to pick me up. I hadn’t checked a bag, so I went straight outside and looked for the silver rental car that he’d described.

I heard my name and turned to see that Bryce had stepped out of the car and was waving at me. Damn, it seemed like this man got more handsome by the day. He made Khaki cargo shorts and a white tee look so alluring. He walked over and met me, giving me a hug and taking my bag. He opened the car door for me and then loaded my suitcase into the trunk. When he came around and got in the car, he turned to me with a huge smile on his face. Taking a deep breath, he said.

“Hey you.”

“Hey yourself.” I said. He leaned over and placed a sweet soft kiss on my lips.

“I’m so glad you made it.” He said, seeming to be dealing with some nerves himself. Strangely that calmed me a bit, knowing that I wasn’t alone in the anticipation of what this little getaway would entail.

“I’m glad to be here.” I said, grabbing his face for a more intense kiss.

“Mmmmm. Let’s get out of here!” He said and then buckled his seat belt and pulled from the curve.

When we arrive at the hotel Bryce gave the keys to the valet and we took the elevator up to the suite. When I walked in, I was taken back by the beauty of the room. I don’t know what I expected, but this exceeded anything I would have ever imagined.

The spacious living room was decorated with neutral-colored modern furniture. The large plush sectional couch wrapped around the living space and could sleep a family of ten and the elegant dining area held a large mahogany table that sat at least twenty.
